The Pukehinahina project, developed with the Pukehinahina Charitable Trust and Ngāi Tamarāwaho, envisions a cultural and historic center at the Gate Pā Recreation Reserve. The center's location is historically significant, being the site of the 1864 Battle of Gate Pā. The design includes workshop spaces, exhibition areas, performing arts spaces, and integrated technology to immerse visitors in New Zealand's Land Wars history. This project aims to honor the site's heritage while providing a versatile space for cultural engagement.
