The new Omokoroa Town Centre is proposed to be relocated to a site along a secondary arterial road, 2km from the current commercial hub and closer to State Highway 2. This site, already zoned for commercial and future urban use, is better positioned to support anticipated urban growth.

The current centre is geographically constrained and cannot support further residential development. The new site will accommodate both commercial and residential growth, fostering a pedestrian-friendly environment with alternative transportation options such as bicycles and buses.

The new town centre will feature a well-connected layout with diverse retail and commercial buildings, green spaces, and a distinct town centre identity. Emphasis on building scale and hierarchy will promote a vibrant and sustainable community space.
