The Coast Commercial centre in Papamoa, was always going to be designed and built, to complete the client’s Vision for the Coast residential sub-division and growing community.

The location of Coast is along Papamoa Beach road and very close to the main beach, which certainly attracts residents to live here and enjoy their new lifestyle. This location is also close to Girven road, Bayfair shopping centre, medical facilities and the golf course.

FPA were engaged to masterplan the new commercial centre of 2,700sqm and design a variety of buildings, offering local amenity for this new catchment area. The client wanted to create a beach village character with each building reflecting it’s own identity, but still feel as though the whole village is in harmony as a cohesive development. The architecture / form and palette of materials, provided an intimacy appropriate for this beach location.

The anchor tenants of a Fresh Choice supermarket and the Good Home, as the local restaurant and bar, were complimented by a medical centre / pharmacy and a few small retail outlets. The café pavilion became the popular meeting place, all year around with a covered outdoor seating area that could be opened up, when the sun was shining.
