FPA designed the new Wairakei Lodge to complement the renowned Wairakei Golf Course and Wildlife Sanctuary in Taupo.

The client’s Vision was to build a luxury lodge to enable golfers and visitors to stay overnight and enjoy this unique natural environment and wildlife sanctuary.

The master plan includes 20 three-bedroom villas, providing 60 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and each villa features a split relaxation deck overlooking Fairway No. 1 and the Reserve. The villas have dark timber cladding, stone feature walls, outdoor fireplaces, and steeply pitched roofs to blend into the wooded landscape. The main lodge includes a reception area, two bars, a restaurant, and wrap-around verandas with views of Fairways 1 and 2.
